RDIF head says sees India certify Sputnik Light within two weeks
MOSCOW, Nov 26 (PRIME) -- Russia’s one-shot COVID-19 vaccine Sputnik Light may be approved for mass use in India within the next two weeks, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev said in an interview with Indian TV channel CNBC India on Friday.
“I think we’re at an important point with the launch of Sputnik Light in India, which we expect to happen within the next two weeks at the latest,” Dmitriev said.
All documents and data on the vaccine have been submitted to the Indian regulator, Dmitriev said. If approved, Sputnik Lite will be the first single-component vaccine in India.
India approved the Sputnik V vaccine was approved on April 12, 2021 under an accelerated registration process. The country is also the leading manufacturing hub for the Sputnik V vaccine.
